Memories of 09S6E from the 2 terms

Having spent almost half a year together as 09S6E, let us review some of the important moments on the last day of school before the june holidays start!

1) The last day with Mdm Lau, our chem teacher for two terms.

Mdm Lau teaching in action.

Famous words: "Accelerate!" and "The equation to success".

Thank you, Mdm Lau, for being such a dedicated teacher to the rowdy bunch of us. Thank you for all that you have done for us, even though it was a short period of time! We will definitely miss you!

2) Memorable moments!

Puffer-fish Jia Yu! (Taken at the arts symposium :D)

Class bench galore!

Greenworks '09!

Rock on, 09S6E!

Love, xinyun.

Urgent matter: on GEM

OMG Daren!! You're more than a bimbo, definitely.

But, that's not what I'm going to say in this entry.
You better be quick in REPLYING to and SPREADING the news this time.

Okay, a contact person from Ben and Jerry (yes, that Ben and Jerry ice cream shop) replied my email, in which she said that there's a WAFFLE MAKING SESSION for $20/pax.
I know that for pools/cue sports, we don't have to add a significant amount of money... however, isn't this what you all wanna do originally? Something related to icecream??

Hmm well, since I'm too efficient to summarise and rewrite everything that the contact person wrote in her email, I'll just copy it down here.

1. Waffle Cone Making Session: @ $20 per pax

- Scoop your own ice-cream
- Make your own waffle cone
- Topped it off with your favourite sprinkles
- Mini Brownies
- Mini Cookies
- Free flow of drinks

2. Ice-cream Burger Class: @ $30 per pax

- Scoop your own ice-cream
- Roll and bake your own cookies
- Decorate your cookies
- Mini Brownies
- Mini Cookies

- Free flow of drinks

With this, you may use the lounge at our Ben & Jerry's Cathay which come for our projector to organise your very own team bonding games or activities.

Isn't it interesting, guys? Okay okay, I'm not trying to tempt you or what, but well yeah. I love Ben and Jerry. and looking at the overwhelming response from some of our classmates regarding the Ben and Jerry ice-cream making sabbatical, I believe that most of you LOVEEEEEE it too.

So. please consider this option and the cue sport. And tell me the date on which you are available. And pass the message around!! I will hate you if you dao me and this super cool offer on doing Ben and Jerry. Drop me an email, tag, facebook comment, sms, call, write to me, anything you think is convenient to TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT FOR GEM.

No word limit so don't worry.

Thanks, 6E.

End of Term 2

Hello. Today's a good (refers to picture below) day :) I felt the craving to write something "meaningful" here, and let Pau take a break from writing on this blog (although I know she wouldn't want to stop). So here goes...

Well, we went through a lot as a class - good and bad. From Mr Rem's farewell and Athena's Greenworks to POP and STJ. We tend to bypass these seemingly insignificant events and continue slogging our guts out (or maybe not) so as to cope with our busy lives...

But wait.

What's the point of going through these events without thinking of their significance? Today marked the end of term 2 and also the end of Mdm Lau's lessons. I believe that she's an outstanding teacher, who has been working equally hard, or even harder than us, so as to achieve her goals: make us interested in Chemistry. Whether her goals were achieved, is up to us to decide. We will miss Mdm Lau, won't we?

But wait.

Take a step back and view all these in a different perspective. We have actually less than two terms left before the year comes to a close. What do we want to achieve? What do we aim for after one gruelling year? Personally, I would want to know more of everyone in 6E. I would want to learn more about myself throughout this year - how I learn the best, what's my optimum working style, and how I can improve as a person.

But wait.

Bring our busy life to a hiatus.
Think. Reflect. Ponder.
What should we achieve as a class?

the vulture

Vulture culture. It's entire body is beautiful, as well as riveting. It represents a culture onto its own, doling out the wisdom of the world. The vulture is a magnificent beast, even though it may look pretty and gay here. It has piercing eyes ready to entice you. An ever ready smile that promises infinite intelligence that almost transcends The Smirk. Its caw is the most emotion-inducing sound that you'll ever care to hear. Many think that it is a shrill, ear-splitting sound, but perhaps it is gentle, wisdom advice, to look under the covers and find the humpty dumpty. It's eyes, however, are round and piercing, and embody truth, sensitivity, as well as knowledge.

I vote this to be our class bird as well!

GEM

Okay. Here we go.

Majority of us don't want to do ice-cream making course that costs like, so hiighh that our $10 is like, meaningless, right?

So (crack my knuckles). I've called Tanglin CC, asking them about the availability of ice-cream making course (your preference), and the nice receptionist at the other end of the phone pointed that there are TWO options available for us:

1. PASIR RIS CC

2. MARINE PARADE CC

Date: 1st June 2009
since OCIP Cambodia and Faccomm camp is cancelled, I believe that now we all are free to go on that day?

The cost: yeah FIFTEEN BUCKS $15

Good deal, huh? THIRTYSIX is burning our pockets. many objections have come, yeahh.
Thank you for those who have replied to me. (:

Okay, so. I think, it would be unfair that I cross out COOKING or BAKING just because Zijing thought it's sissy. Well, I've inquired the nice lady too, where can we find COOKING/BAKING course, coz the majority of us agreed on that previously. Well, the nice lady tells me...

There's this reputable, famous cooking course in Cairnhill CC (which is just like, 3km down the road or sth like that haha! It's near Newton FC) I haven't checked the dates whatsoever, but the price should be around 15 to 20. yeahh.

However, the drawback of the course is that we can't cook ourselves, we will only watch a DEMO, but yeah, we got to bring home some of the cooked food. Well, hmm... from my point of view, right, this is a tad too boring, even though we've got to bring home some delicacies but err... I'm not sure that I can bear just sit back and relax while the aroma of the cooking stuffed my nose and I have paid for the course oh well yeahh... you understand right?

-----

Another alternative will be going to ECP to cycle or rollerblade (sadly, I admit that I cannot cycle. Just like I don't speak Chinese--even worse) I know that S7J is also cycling, and the price is just nice, $10. I think right, even if you don't ride the bike, we can make this a memorable trip where we can learn more about YOUR classmates (yess, my classmates too!) and therefore strengthening the covalent bonds... oh wait.

I'm too preoccupied by the upcoming CHEM TEST ON THURSDAY ON ENERGETICS. haha. lame.

But well yeah. For me, GEM to ECP and learning how to ride a bike will surely be memorable, because it serves as our class outing too (: how'd you all like it?

The date is possibly the 1st June, or the date that we have set previously, right after the blocks. Or, on the Saturday after blocks. Let's vote.

Oh and I heard from other classes, they are doing billiard, $252 for the whole class, so we'll just have to pay $2 extra from the class fund. I know that my ideas are a bit too dull and not original... but then...

You have rejected Performing Arts (with the exception of some parties who want to dance :])
(uh yes, no more drama)but then... realistically speaking, it's a bit difficult to find a one-day dance course that is below $30. seriously.

As mentioned by someone, "money comes first for GEM, because in this case, we'll learn the most important thing anyway... being more bonded as a class" (:

So I hope that you all will drop me an SMS (I expect my inbox to be flooded by 1040PM tonight hahas) after you read this and tell me what you think.

Thanks 6E! Oh and btw, I'm considering to make a class relay system. (:

Loveeeeee (6E!)

PS: please go faster to the Math lecture so that we can discuss more about this thing okaayy!! <3

a week before holiday.

As promised, I will update our class blog regularly... hahas. and sometimes i can also post something important in the middle of the week, yeah, if there's any (:

Monday//Chemistry.

Please be reminded that Monday's chem tutorial is replaced by PHYSICS. So, Lilin and Zhou Yang, come to A310 at 12pm for Physics. I won't send out any more reminders, okay.

And don't forget to attempt the CHEM online test by Sunday 1159pm.

Physics online test also. Aiyah, I'm wondering whether we'll still have to do those online tests in the holidays ): hope not.

---
Then what else... hmm... oh for GPP, well, I just checked my SMB and there's this GPP form to be downloaded, one per group. It's to be filled in and submitted on Monday also.

ELLfs, Miss Yangs assignment's due this monday, coz she wants to return it on tuesday.

I know that CLL ppl have a test on Wednesday, hahas. So study hard,
and so do the Geoggers, I heard your test was postponed last week? >.<

For Wenjing and I, Spanish class on Monday will begin at 330, because we're running out of time. haha. We've got homework, right? And also we'll have a class this Wednesday, I forget the timing though.
---

This week is our last week before the holiday yaay!
(Um, actually I'm not very sure whether we should cheer or shed a tear, as the June holiday, I believe it's terrible for most of us, having committed ourselves to thousands of things alr that we are constantly occupied and yeah, cannot get enough rest. hahas.)

Well, yeah. Try to do your GPP/WR/rprimary research for PW, as well as Physics misconception thingy. Sigh... and of course, study for the block test ):
I guess I just failed terribly in my attempt to be a mugger. ):):):):):):

Math Holiday Homework Package (euh, sounds like a nightmare) can be collected from the Photocopy shop this Friday. Math rep! Don't forget okay? (:
---

Oh and we'll have JTS on Saturday, right? Liseah, where are we going? (:
I hope that we all will come in full force, although I know that some of us are not so so close to our seniors, but then, think of this as THE CHANCE to get to know them better, okay? Furthermore, it's also an avenue for us to bond as a class (and for you to see me :D HAA!)
So, I hope that we all are looking forward to it :D:D

Well, since JTS is coming... I know that you all are like, saving up for somethings, but then... I suppose our class fund needs top-up? :D

So I guess that's all for this week's update.
Please drop a comment/randomness on the tagboard, let me know that you've read this.

PS: Mrs Tan said that we'll have class comm election next term, or whenever we've got a permanent Civics Tutor. So, for the time being, we're running the ad-interim committe, okay?
Oh except for Wang Xiao, I suggest that she'll be forever our Chem rep. She deals very nicely with Mdm Lao, and her Chem is undisputably the best.

PPS: But oh, umm... I'm honestly concerned that IFFFF during lectures then the lecturer asks "where's the Chem rep of 6E? can you answer this question?" then I'm sian lar. coz then the lecturer will move on to the ct rep mah. unless by any luck(cross my fingerss!) he/she will go bug the councillor or math rep or sec-tres or sth like that HAHAHAHA.

PPPS: which remind me that THIS WEEK IS MADAM LAU's LAST WEEK WITH US. what surprise do you want to give her?

Sunday, May 17, 2009

MRU : (most recent update) 17may

yo yo again.

just thinking, it would be great if we devise a RELAY SYSTEM.
yeahh?

just wondering whether we'll have a change in the class comm positions, as in, the subject reps and all that? hehe.

and actually right, the main main main reason why I keep posting with my account is because I forget the class sign in id and password. hehe.hehe.

*Don't give me thaat look*

Good night everyone. ^^

and oh yeah, PHYSICS mythbusters' FIRST PROPOSAL is due in week 9, which is like, this week. (Groupiee 5! We haven't discussed on anything >.<>

On CSM, On Wenesday, On Math LT.

Helloo 6E!

Okay, so you should all know already that we'll be having CSM--Combined Sports Meet--on this coming Wednesday, so yeah. No lessons.

Aww, it's just too bad that we're having it on Wed because most people end at 1230.

Well, even though there are no competitors from our class, but we should cheer for other ATHENIANS who are running/jumping/throwing javelin/simply participating in the comps.

SO, as a faculty, let's show 'em our support by CHEERING yaayy!
Heehee...

Okay, so here's the plan:
--Bring something noisy (yes, Zijing can bring only himself haha. kidding) as in, like empty bottles that you can fill in with sand so that it makes a lot of noises for cheering or your test tubes. The clinks and clings and CRACKs will surely deafen your ears ^^

--Drink plenty of water prior to the CSM, because you'll be killing your throat. Yes, seriously.
I'll make sure that we're so heated up due to the cheers and yells.

--Or, if you feel shy or sth like that, yeahh you can bring a lot of noisy stuff to hype up the atmosphere (:

Okay. That's the CSM plan. I see the high school tribune has been sheltered with tents, so we all shall not worry too much about the heat and the steaming sun. Yet, I think it's still necessary to bring your water bottle, although we'll perhaps buy like, Sprite or POKKA greentea to quench our thirst, if you all want larh. (class fund)
About the attire, not so suree. Most probably facshirt or PE tshirt lor. Better not wear school U larh. Unless you want to stink and sweat super badly by the end of the event. >.<

Okk?? Wishing you all a great week ahead (:

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

and our math lecture venue is in LT3, near the AV room, just like last time. (:
Wishing you ALL THE BEST FOR MATHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I just hope that I don't screw up again and get myself another U :(

Lots of love,

but she don't know what she got, till it's gone

hola amigas

okay, I had almost uploaded here some notes about the eom, had the internet not been so sucky (or the pc in the lab) at school.
Sigh. lamentation numero uno.

So, well yeah. Gotta wait until like, tuesday? before I can write the notes here. Because I keep the copy of the notes at comlab. :)

Okay then.

Remember that we'll have CHEM LECTURE during CT period tomorrow, to replace Wednesday's schedule. And as for Li Lin and Zhou Yang, I suppose you two going for some talk on Nutrition whatsoever at audi, issit? Not very sure.

And, yeah. Math quiz. It's funny how we 'passed' the assignment today, by keeping silence when Mr Tan just went through Tut4B. hehe. That, is the class spirit that I love so much. :D:D

Hehe.hehe

Okay larh, little chance that he'll forget tomorrow, as in, well, I guess he was mistaken last week when announcing the day. Okay, shall go mug now. ^^
(I'm a mugger whatt!)

Oh and, bring your chem testpaper and all-sorts of tutorials as told by Madam Lau.
PW is in Audi, yes, a lecture. And for ELLices and CSCer, what time do you all wanna eat?
(HEHEHEHEHE. Meanie Beanie in action) sorry larh! (:

Ahaha, now that I sound like a cca pro or sth.
Aiyah! Gotta go back mugging.

Well, I just want to remind you all to bring your OhDeeTee everyday (eh, wait. ODT sounds like Oh, deity. heehee. random) and take care of your health! >.<

Class outing

Heyy 6E!

You know for our class outing, do you all want to go for a movie screening by ELDDFS this Friday? It will be held at central plaza. The movie is a Japanese movie titled Departure. FYI, it won the Academy Award (Oscar) for the Foreign Language category.
Well, maybe you're interested hehehe.

It's basically about someone who takes pride in his work even though the society may have a negative view about it. The profession that I'm refering to is like, the solicitor, you know.
Those dealing with deaths and burial process and sth like that.

It's on this coming Friday at 730 and admission is free.
We can all dress up as like, shinigami (angel of death) or yar... as long as it's gothic and black and surreal and deathly. There will be an award for the best dressed or sth like that, yeah.

Signed,
pau.

GREENWORKS

Hello. Okay, super pissed off at my camera right now -.-
Cos my pics turned out to be very blur.
So above is one of the "better" ones (although it's still kinda blur) :)

:D
